...Teething

Hunter has teeth! After a couple crazy fussy days and fussy nights, two teeth sprouted in the middle of Hunter's bottom gums. Now it hurts even more when he bites my shoulder. I think the teeth in the middle of his upper gums are getting pretty close too. How long does it take for a tooth to sprout all the way up? How big do they get? When do his back teeth come in? Dan and I were a little unprepared for this. We knew he was teething, but his so gosh darn cute gummy grin is our favorite, and we're rather hesitant to let it go. However, we recently discovered that Hunter isn't just gorgeous, he's also incredibly photogenic, so we're busy taking as many pictures as we can before he grows up too much. :)

Also, Hunter is learning how to sit up on his own! Sometimes he can do it, but most of the time he still needs a little help balancing. He's getting so good at it! We recently bought him a bouncer, and I think it has really helped. Hopefully he won't hate his big, uncomfortable high chair as much when he can sit up in it on his own. He definitely likes the stroller more when he's sitting upright, facing forward, rather than lying back, facing us.

Right now, Hunter is just playing in his bouncer and watching Danny play guitar. The guitar calms him down more than just about anything, even laughing at himself in the mirror, which he does every day. Danny recently learned all the lyrics to what I call the Whale Song (To the Dogs or Whoever, by Josh Ritter), which is Hunter's favorite, so whenever Dan plays it, Hunter dances and sings along, like he is now. It's so awesome. I love our cute little family. The mornings that Dan is home are definitely the best--Sundays we just lie in bed and play with the baby for as long as we can. When we can, we take a morning walk together as a family, but today it was too cold and rainy.

Well, now it's time to clean and start getting ready for Church!

...Being Finished

Another semester of school is done. It is so good to be finished with all the stress of final projects and exams. Now we have some time to get ready for the holidays! We're almost all ready, but we have just a little bit of shopping to finish this weekend. We're excited. So this is probably your last chance to tell us what you do or do not want.

Hunter had his two month appointment today! He is such a big boy. He weighs 14 lbs 5 ounces now!!! He is 25.6 inches tall, and his head is 16.1 inches around. He is growing like a champ and is so healthy. He got some of his shots today and he hated it, but he calmed right down after it. He is not a very happy camper tonight because of it. Poor little guy. Tomorrow will be better. We're proud of him.

...Being Stressed Over Everything

This is the busiest time of year. Between working full time, school, family, and church there is so much to do. I've been stressing over my final prject for my MIDI class, whilst inadvertently ignoring a paper I have to write and a final or two I have to study for. There will be much cramming this week. Talysa hasn't had it much easier. Hunter has been a handful and has been determined to keep us up a couple nights this week. Somehow Talysa manages to not only take care of Hunter, but she keeps the apartment organized and keeps me sane and fed. She is a miracle worker and I'm glad I have her.
Hunter was blessed yesterday! He is now officially on the church records! Woo. It was awesome to have so many family members and friends come out for it. He is an amazing little guy and it still baffles and amazes me that I am sealed to him and Talysa for eternity. How awesome is the gospel?
We took a break from the stress of everything to stress about Christmas. People are hard to shop for. It's hard to buy someone a present and keep it genuine. But it's very good to check some people off the list. If you get something you don't like from us, we promise we tried to think of what you would like. Maybe we don't know you well enough. Deal with it. In case you are going through the same worries trying to think of what we want, we prepared this list:
For Talysa:
-One whole night of continuous rest.
     -Clean dishes and carpet.
For Daniel:
-Someone to pose as him to take a history final.
-Chelsea beating Valencia tomorrow, and thus qualifying for the group stage of the Champion's League.
For Hunter:
     -A bottle of milk.
     -Christmas lights to stare at.
Maybe someday we'll post a reall list. But honestly, I wouldn't count on it. At any rate, happy holidays!

...Getting Pooped On

As it turns out, Hunter not only likes to spit up on his father, but likes to poop on him as well. I picked him up to put him in his car seat today and got a handful of poop. The little stinker was laughing it up too. So was Talysa. I guess this is the reward I get for laughing when he pees on Talysa while she changes his diaper. But he hasn't done that in a while. In Talysa's defense, he has learned to behave whilst getting changed now. I am just hoping he doesn't develop a habit of pooping on my hand.

...Starting a Blog

In light of recent events, we have decided to start a blog. With Hunter here now, we think it's probably a good time to start a chronology of his life and awesomeness, which must also entail our lives and awesomeness. We've found it hard to make a conscious effort to update people about our lives and our new son and thought this would be a good way to start. As we are new at this, please excuse if we break any secret blogger code of ethics. We don't mean to. For example, we my break into spontaneous song or argument during our blogs. Also, you will probably be regularly updated on the happenings in English football, or be the victim of a tirade about the grandeur of Harry Potter.

Well, we have no idea how to end a blog post. What do you say? Hm... How about a signature sign-off? Any ideas?
